Well, we had our BIG exam this past weekend and now it's kind of a "let down" time. This was a national exam (not for school or Wycliffe) and recognized world-wide with specific levels of French that you test in. Mandi, Matthew, and I took it this past Friday and Saturday. The most harrowing part was the "speaking" portion where you had to talk in front of 2 strangers that were grading you on what you said.......I prayed a LOT before that part and God provided the "calmness" I needed. The nice thing was that this was the first portion of the test and we got it over with on Friday.
On Saturday we had the "written" part of the exam with listening comprehension exercises, reading comprehension exercises, and finally we had to write an essay-type of thing on a topic they gave us. (Note: Matthew and I took the B1 level and Mandi took the B2 (higher) level.) Matthew and I had to write about computers and the Internet - right up his alley since he is a computer guy.......but I think I did okay, it was an easy topic. I prayed really hard that I God would give me a good memory and the ability to concentrate, especially since this was a timed exam. He came through again! Not that I was worried about that, but I do have a tendency to get distracted VERY easily, especially during tests. :)
So, with 3 weeks left until we go home, I'm at a bit of a loss. School continues - of course - and it's not like I am done studying or learning, by any means. I need to be at a "high B2 level" in my French for Cameroon. That basically translates to "fluent." So, if you haven't heard the news yet - I'll be coming back to Switzerland in January and not heading to Africa at this time. It's looking like I'll get there sometime between April and June of next year - God's timing, not mine.
Back to school tomorrow and my second Rabies vaccine. Yippee.

Rabies shot? What's that about?? Is there something in Suisse that we need to be aware of?
