Baking surprise

This title may shock you.....but no, it wasn't me that did any baking. :) Mandi and I "inherited" one of those baking mixes-in-a-jar contraptions from someone here. The only catch was that person didn't have the directions as to what other ingredients to add or how long to bake it, or to even tell us what we were making. It was quite the mystery!

My contribution to the project was deciding on the shape of the "mix" we decided to call cookies. We had no idea what they would turn out like, but I figured they would get points for creativity value! Mandi thought the Reese's PB cup eyes would melt into a blob but I knew better and convinced her to trust me and give them a try. No worries!

Pretty creative eh? Well, they get a good score for "looks" but in the "taste" department they scored a -10. There was too much nutmeg or something in the mix and they had a weird after-taste. So, we ate the eyes and gave the rest to the dogs. They liked it just fine! :)

Oh well, better luck next time and maybe some directions would be helpful too! It was still a fun surprise to see how they would turn out.
