Double Takes

From time to time something, let's just say "slightly out of the ordinary," will catch my eye here in Switzerland. Then I think, "Hmmmm, this is normal here but incredibly hilarious" to me, at least!

-My favorite of all time is the magazine stand I walk by on my way home after school. My eye always lands on the magazine titled "Psycho." The lady on the front looks normal, but that's what they all say!

-Then there's the pedestrian crossing sign that sports a gentleman in a derby hat.

-The toothpaste called "Candida" (all you medical-type people will get this one, sorry everyone else!) I just can't bring myself to use it....

-And the German phrase on my bus/train ticket holder that looks like it contains a swear word. (I'm looking for a sticker to put over it by the way....)

The joys of living in another culture where English is not the primary language - more like the 4th or 5th for most people here in Switzerland! It just makes me laugh, but most of the time I just smile to myself because laughing out loud in public is definitely not Swiss. Ha!
