The Land of Chocolate

Switzerland is truly the land of chocolate. It's got to be the best chocolate you can get in the whole world AND it's so much cheaper than in the States!!! What a bonus.....since, really, nothing is cheap in Switzerland. We were talking today that the word "free" is one that has to be taken out of your vocabulary while you are here, but I digress.

I think I had chocolate for every meal one day already! Why not??? When you are traversing the hills like a pack mule to school everyday I think it's only fair to splurge at times. I often have toast with Nutella on it for breakfast. This is a delicious chocolate/hazelnut spread that basically tastes like chocolate. I figure it's a bit healthier since you do have the protein from the hazelnuts. (It is available in the US too folks, I suggest you give it a try, and if you don't like it just send it to my house and I'll get it this coming Christmas when I'm home!)

You can get breads baked with chocolate, chocolate candies, chocolate cakes, chocolate in paper thin sheets, and today I had chocolate candy with "pop rocks" in it. It was interesting. My sister is here for a couple of days and I've already started telling her about the chocolate wonders that abound in Switzerland. Hopefully some samples will make it home to you Mom!
