I am safe and sound in Neuchatel, Switzerland now and gearing up for my 1st day of school tomorrow. That is quite an adjustment in itself as the last time I was in school was 10 years ago! Yikes, that's kind of a depressing thought.
Anyway, my flights went very smoothly and I slept very little on the way to Germany so I had a good dose of "jet lag" by the time I actually arrived in Neuchatel. I didn't dare sleep on the train since I knew I would miss my stop if I did. The lady I'm staying with for these next couple months, Hermine, came to fetch me at the train station and we took a cab back to her apartment since the city got dumped on with snow a few days ago. This much snow is actually very unusual for Switzerland this time of year. It has been in the 20's (F) temperature-wise and reminds me of home.
I've met another girl who will be at Language school with me......not in my class, just at the school. Also, a Swiss girl, Julie, took us to the Alps on Saturday and then we had fondue at night for dinner. Fondue is a signature meal of Switzerland - cheese, garlic, white wine melted and bread dipped in it. Very tasty. They say here that you are only supposed to have "hot drinks or wine" with fondue so it doesn't cause an upset stomach, just so you know.

Oh, wow, what a gorgeous picture of that house and the mountains. Did you take that or did you find it in web archives somewhere? I'm impressed! Thinking about how a visit would be pretty nice. Learn the recipe for fondue. We'll want it when you're in Michigan again!
Wouldn't Mark be impressed??? I actually took the picture myself - thanks to a good camera!
Beautiful!
let me know what you think of the school. I'm still trying to decide between there and Les Cédres.
